Approaches to Learning
Approaches to Learning refers to how children go about learning to acquire knowledge and skills. Preschoolers approach learning in many different ways. Children show Initiative, planning, problem solving, doing things for themselves, and making choices to become more independent. Active Learning is the best practice because it allows for children to explore using different materials, manipulation, choice, communication, and adult scaffolding.
Materials: Basic and Larger Puzzles, Shape Sorter, Blocks. Large Legos, Pegboards, Geoboards and Simple Household Kitchen Items, Plastic Teddy Bears, Mini Flashlights, Pointers, Area Picture Cards and a Mystery Bag.
